I am not Jennifer. Jennifer is my neighbor who is very creative. I’d like to share some of the wisdom I’ve learned from being around her.
Recent events in Jennifer’s family have caused her to examine their eating habits and make a few changes.
First her husband developed high blood pressure. Through research she discovered that sugar and salt were the main causes. Of course processed foods are notoriously high in both. She had been couponing to save money. Well, guess what you can get quite cheaply by combining coupons with store sales…lots of good cleaning and personal items but also many processed foods. Thankfully her husband’s blood pressure improved when she cut back on the sugar and salt.
Then she watched a movie with her family that they had gotten through Netflix. The name of that movie? Food, Inc. That was the nail in the coffin!
She had given up processed foods. Now feedlot meat had to go as well. But how to do that on a budget. Well, that’s the subject of this blog. If she will allow me to be a fly on the wall and post her grocery list, menu plans (or last minute decisions about what to eat), or other creative endeavors, come back to be inspired and motivated.
